Nurse manager jobs consist of good managerial and communications skills in order to liaise with other nurses of all levels and to coordinate patient services. They will also develop new goals and plans for patients, as well as making sure unit equipment is functioning properly and safely for patients.

The job will include handling the budget for your department, this means tracking monthly budget figures and determining the needs for supplies and medical equipment. The nurse manager will also report to meetings to share information, ideas and problem solving for the facility.
To become a nurse manager, you must have a registered nursing license and a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing, though some positions require a master’s degree in nursing. A number of years experience within the health care and nursing industry is required, though the number of years experience depends on the health care facility.
